A creative day in the garden! We will start by making a Hugelkulture bed. This is a little known technique which creates excellent soil conditions by using up waste materials such as rotting timbers and garden prunings, cardboard, grass clippings, manure, topsoil. We will break for a picnic lunch (please bring your own and something to sit on!), then will plant the raised bed we have made with a mix of herbs, dye plants and pollinator friendly flowers, in line with the historic nature of the site, and todays climate concerns. Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.
